The plateau

Why most apps abandon you at intermediate.

The middle is where language learning gets hard, and it's where almost every app gives up.

  1. 01

Beginner apps gamify the basics, then leave you.

Showing up daily doesn't get you to a conversation. Habit metrics measure attendance. They don't measure speaking.

  2. 02

Advanced learners can just immerse. Intermediates can't.

Native content is too hard. Beginner content is too boring. You need real material with a safety net, translation, transcripts, a way to save what you don't know.

  3. 03

Output is where progress actually lives.

You stop being a beginner the moment you start producing the language. Every tool in LenguaZen is built around this: write, speak, get corrected, save what you didn't know, see it again tomorrow.

The hub

One word bank, fed by everything you do.

Highlight any word or phrase in a journal, chat, video, podcast, or lesson. See the translation in context, save it with one tap, and it lands in your word bank, with the sentence you found it in and a schedule for review.

Llegamos al pueblo al atardecer, justo cuando las luces de la plaza comenzaban a encenderse. Había un olor a humo de leña en el aire.

The tools

Six tools, one shared vocabulary.

Each tool works on its own, but they all share your word bank. A phrase from this morning's podcast shows up in tonight's journal prompt. The sentence you wrote becomes tomorrow's review card.

Word bank

The reason vocab finally sticks. Every word stored with the sentence where you met it, surfaced again before you forget it.

FAQ

Questions, mostly fair.

01How is this different from Duolingo or Babbel?

Those apps are built for absolute beginners. Their job is to teach you that hola means hello. LenguaZen starts where they end. It's built for people who already know the basics and need a way to actually use the language: write it, speak it, read it, listen to it, and remember it.

02Will the AI corrections actually be accurate?

We use a tuned LLM with prompts grounded in the sentence you wrote. It explains the grammar, tense, and register choices instead of giving a score. It's not perfect, no AI is, but it's closer to a tutor than to a red-pen marking your homework.

03What if I miss days? Do I lose progress?

Missed days don't erase your progress. The word bank uses spaced review, so a missed day just means a slightly bigger queue when you're back. Showing up matters. Beating yourself up about missed days doesn't.

04Why only Spanish, French and Italian?

We picked the three Romance languages most English speakers want to learn, and built the product deeply for them. Better to do three well than ten badly. More languages later, once these three feel finished.

05Is this just Anki + DeepL + ChatGPT in a wrapper?

You could stitch those tools together. Most intermediate learners try and most quit, because the friction kills it. LenguaZen is the integration: every word you save in any tool is in your bank with the sentence you met it in, surfaced again on a schedule, ready to drop into your next chat or journal entry.

06When does the beta open / how do I get in?

We're letting people in in small batches as we tighten the product. No fixed date, we email when your spot opens up. No spam in the meantime.
